Licensed Professional Counselor
and Karen’s Dad.

Wayne Baker, LPC, brings over two decades of counseling experience with a genuine passion for learning, profound empathy, and heartfelt understanding. Holding a Master of Counseling from St. Edward's University, Wayne specializes in adult individual and couple therapy, transitioning from a successful international sales career at Dell to pursue his true calling. His dedication to fostering healing and wholeness is unwavering.

Wayne's approach draws from a diverse array of methodologies, including Internal Family Systems, Intimacy from the Inside Out, Gottman Couple Therapy, Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy, EMDR, and Emotion Transformation Therapy. Since establishing his practice in January 2005, Wayne has guided numerous clients towards emotional well-being, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development.

Beyond his practice, Wayne actively contributes to his field, participating in scholarly works and serving as a panelist and writer focusing on couple therapy and betrayal trauma. Currently, he is developing two courses for therapists, blending IFS, couple therapy, and betrayal trauma expertise.

Outside of work, Wayne calls Boulder, Colorado, home since 2020, finding balance between professional responsibilities and personal joys. As a father, yogi, avid reader, and tennis enthusiast, he has recently discovered a passion for crafting sourdough bread. Wayne's holistic approach to well-being underscores his belief in the power of nurturing connections, both professionally and personally.

Karen Baker, a proud native Austinite, received a Master of Education in Counseling and Development with a clear mission: to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in her beloved home state. Her passion lies in supporting individuals through their healing journeys, particularly those grappling with trauma and anxiety while championing the rights of minorities and marginalized communities.

In her pursuit of knowledge and growth, Karen has engaged in workshops exploring Authentic Relating and received training from Texans Against Violence, deepening her understanding of human connection and social justice.

Despite the demands of her academic pursuits and maintaining an outstanding 4.0 GPA, Karen has actively sought additional training in various therapeutic modalities, including Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems Circle, EMDR, and Emotional Transformational Therapy.

Driven by the concept of the Wounded Healer, Karen eagerly anticipates continuing her journey through internships, where she aims to assist individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, intimate partner violence, grief, and betrayal trauma. Her ultimate goal is to empower others on their paths to healing and self-discovery.

In her personal life, Karen cherishes moments spent with friends and family, staying active through yoga, and spending time outdoors, such as hiking and walking her dog. An avid reader, she recently taught herself to crochet, embodying her spirit of continual learning and creativity.
